Volvo is a Swedish automotive manufacturer based in Torslanda, Gothenburg, Sweden. The company was founded in 1927 as a subsidiary of the ball bearing manufacturer SKF. The first Volvo car, called Volvo ÖV 4, left the assembly line in the same year. AB Volvo sold the Volvo Cars division to the Ford Motor Company in 1999, and in 2010, it became a subsidiary of the Chinese manufacturer Geely Holding Group. Its portfolio includes SUVs, hatchbacks, sedans, station wagons, and compact executive sedans.
